On a section of the Saryozek–Koktal national highway in the Jetisu Region, heavy trucks were bypassing an automated weighing station, but the loophole for drivers has been closed, infohub.kz reports.
According to the official website of the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office, instances of heavy vehicles bypassing the automated weighing station were identified on that section.
"A technical road built by a private enterprise for production needs was used for the detour," the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office said.
Under the coordination of the agency, the KazAvtoZhol branch, using specialized equipment, physically blocked the bypass routes.
As of today, truck traffic is moving through the automated stationary complex.
An interdepartmental working group has been created, comprising staff from the prosecutor's office, the transport control inspection, and the administrative police. The group will operate on an interterritorial basis.
A decision was made to increase the number of mobile weighing complexes.
"Together with KazAvtoZhol National Company JSC, we are working on installing an automated system at the entrance to the city of Qonaev; these measures will significantly enhance the effectiveness of weight parameter control," the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office noted.
During the current year to date, the transport control inspection has brought 22,000 drivers to administrative liability for exceeding weight and dimensions, imposing fines totaling 6 billion tenge.
