A BMW carrying four minors crashed into a power transmission pole in Zhezkazgan. One teenager died and two others were injured in the traffic accident, infohub.kz reports.
The crash occurred on Sholokhov Street. According to preliminary information, the driver lost control of the vehicle.
At the time of the accident, four teenagers were in the BMW: a 17-year-old youth, two 16-year-old passengers and a 13-year-old boy. The 13-year-old schoolboy died from his injuries before the ambulance arrived.
The impact was reportedly so strong that the body of the dead child was trapped inside the car. Emergency services were called in to extricate the deceased. Nine employees of the emergency situations department and 2 units of special equipment were dispatched to the scene. Rescuers used hydraulic tools to free the body.
Two other underage passengers were urgently hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.
An investigation has been launched into the accident. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident, as well as determining who owns the vehicle and how the teenagers ended up inside it.
