Kairat Shaizhanov has announced the end of his tenure as mayor of Zhezkazgan. The former city head published a public address to residents today, summarizing his time in office, according to infohub.kz.

According to the ex-mayor, his period leading the city was marked by immense responsibility and became a serious managerial school for him.

"During this time, we raised many issues together and implemented many initiatives together. I grew stronger where you supported me and tougher where you challenged me," Kairat Shaizhanov emphasized in his statement.

He also expressed gratitude to residents for their trust, noting that Zhezkazgan is not just a place of work for him but his hometown, inextricably linked to his fate and career.

Kairat Shaizhanov was born on July 22, 1977. He holds higher education in two fields: Industrial and Civil Construction and Law. He began his career in the private sector, holding managerial positions in construction companies. He has extensive experience in state and quasi-state administration. In 2007, he served as akim of the Zhezkazgan settlement in Satpayev, and later as deputy akim of Satpayev.

In 2013, he moved to the position of head of the department of communal services at Kazakhstan Center for Modernization and Development of Housing and Communal Services JSC in Astana. He later became general director of a specialized scientific and technical center. From November 2015 to June 2017, he served as akim of Osakarov District in Karaganda Region. In 2015, he also briefly headed Alem-Stroy LLP.

Kairat Shaizhanov had held the position of akim of Zhezkazgan since June 2022, serving four years in the post.
