In Shymkent, firefighters prevented a large fire from spreading to residential areas. The flames engulfed a one-story production workshop on Shymkentskaya Street and were fully extinguished, reports infohub.kz.
Firefighting units arrived at the scene within minutes of the call. An operational headquarters was set up to coordinate efforts, communication with municipal services was established, and water supply for extinguishing was continuous.
The situation was complicated by dense construction: near the burning facility were a residential building with an area of 400 square meters and an outbuilding. There was a real threat of the fire spreading to neighboring structures.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of firefighters, the blaze was contained, preventing the flames from reaching nearby buildings.
As a result, the fire was fully extinguished over an area of 570 square meters. No casualties were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Seventy-six employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and 20 units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
