Jogorku Kenesh Speaker Marlen Mamataliev has instructed officials to work out the organization of regular introductory visits to the parliament for foreign tourists, infohub.kz reports.
According to the press service of Kyrgyzstan's Jogorku Kenesh, interest among foreign citizens in the activities of the Kyrgyz parliament has been growing in recent years, with an increasing number of requests to learn about the work of the Jogorku Kenesh.
"As part of the tour program, tourists will be given the opportunity to visit the museum and session halls. Such visits are expected to be held once a week in accordance with established procedures. Organizing tour visits will help enhance the openness of the Jogorku Kenesh and allow foreign guests to gain a fuller understanding of the parliament's activities as one of the main bodies of state power of the Kyrgyz Republic," the press service said in a statement.
The Jogorku Kenesh also announced the creation of a special souvenir corner where visitors can purchase parliamentary souvenirs.
Mamataliev emphasized that the Jogorku Kenesh building has a special status and strategic importance, and therefore established security rules and procedures for staying on the parliament grounds must be strictly observed when organizing visits.
"It should be noted that for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, the doors of the Jogorku Kenesh are open all five working days, subject to established requirements and visiting procedures," the press service recalled.
