Frank Beard, the 77-year-old drummer of rock band ZZ Top, has temporarily stepped away from the band's world tour due to health issues. The musician was unable to perform at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, leading to the sudden cancellation of the show, according to infohub.kz.
According to Rolling Stone, the musician's health condition caused the abrupt cancellation of the concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Band leader Billy Gibbons cited "insurmountable obstacles" and asked fans to understand the brief pause. Organizers have already started refunding tickets for the canceled show, which was also set to feature Cheap Trick.
A representative for ZZ Top confirmed that Billy Gibbons and bassist Elwood Francis will continue touring. Michael Monahan will temporarily fill in on drums. Frank Beard has been with the band since 1969 and has played on all of its studio albums. The band's tour is scheduled through the end of November.
