Officers from the Department of State Revenues together with the border service have tightened controls on the movement of petroleum products at checkpoints on the border with Russia. As a result, around 100 attempts to smuggle fuel into Russia have been thwarted, reports infohub.kz.
Checks are carried out around the clock, including inspections at vehicle checkpoints and the work of mobile teams across the entire Pavlodar region. At the same time, the situation on the domestic market is monitored daily, including fuel sales volumes at gas stations.
"In total, specialists have seized 4,000 liters, of which 1,390 liters are gasoline and 2,500 liters are diesel fuel. Analysis shows that violations at the border are mainly committed by private car drivers who try to bring fuel in canisters," said Yerzhan Toktarkhanov, head of the Department of State Revenues for the Pavlodar region, in an interview with the Irbis TV channel.
Department of State Revenues officers also conduct timing surveys of border gas stations, monitoring gasoline and diesel sales volumes. There are 15 gas stations in the border area.
