Almaty's Department of Emergency Situations has issued a significant warning for residents and visitors, anticipating a change in weather conditions on April 10th. The city is expected to experience rain and thunderstorms throughout the day.

Mountain Weather Alert

The mountainous regions of the Ile-Alatau National Park, specifically the Bostandyk and Medeu districts, are forecast to see rain accompanied by thunderstorms during daylight hours. As temperatures drop overnight, this precipitation is expected to transition into snow in these higher altitudes.

Safety Advisory Issued

In light of these weather predictions, the Department of Emergency Situations strongly advises against venturing into the mountains. They emphasize the importance of adhering to safety measures and closely monitoring official advisories to ensure well-being.

April 10th

The weather in Almaty will be partly cloudy. Rain and thunderstorms are expected overnight. The wind will shift from the southwest to the northwest, blowing at 3-8 m/s. Temperatures will range from +8...+10 degrees Celsius at night to +18...+20 degrees Celsius during the day.

April 11th

The forecast indicates partly cloudy skies with rain and thunderstorms occurring at night. Winds from the northeast will blow at 3-8 m/s, with gusts reaching up to 15 m/s at night. Overnight temperatures are predicted to be between +5...+7 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures will reach +20...+22 degrees Celsius.

April 12th

The weather will remain partly cloudy with no precipitation expected. Winds from the northeast will continue at speeds of 3-8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures are forecasted to be +6...+8 degrees Celsius, with daytime temperatures climbing to +22...+24 degrees Celsius.
