Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Moscow for a working visit. The visit comes ahead of significant Victory Day celebrations and includes plans for high-level discussions.

Attending Victory Day Commemorations

President Tokayev is scheduled to participate in the official events commemorating the 81st anniversary of Victory Day on May 9th. This annual observance honors the victory over Nazism in World War II, a pivotal moment in history for many nations, including Kazakhstan and Russia.

Bilateral Meeting with Russian Leadership

A key aspect of the visit includes a planned one-on-one meeting between President Tokayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The leaders are expected to discuss crucial matters of strategic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia. These discussions are particularly timely as they precede President Putin's own visit to Kazakhstan, which is slated for later in May.

The President's Press Secretary, Aibek Smadiyarov, had previously confirmed Tokayev's attendance at the Victory Day festivities in Moscow, highlighting the importance of the occasion for both nations.
