Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted an invitation for a state visit to Kazakhstan, according to the Kremlin. The visit is anticipated to coincide with the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting scheduled for May in Astana.

During their discussions, the leaders of Russia and Kazakhstan agreed to strengthen ties and explore joint projects, particularly in the trade and economic sectors. President Putin confirmed his participation in the upcoming Supreme Eurasian Economic Council session in Astana. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended the invitation for a state visit in conjunction with this event, which was warmly received.

The Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan, Akorda, also confirmed the planned visit of President Putin to Astana. The leaders exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues, underscoring the commitment to further solidify the strategic partnership between the two nations.

This upcoming visit follows President Tokayev's state visit to Russia in November of the previous year. That engagement resulted in the signing of a declaration on comprehensive strategic partnership.
