Several high-ranking police officials in the Atyrau region have been dismissed from their positions following an extensive internal investigation. The shake-up comes as part of a broader effort to ensure accountability within the regional police department.

Internal Review Uncovers Misconduct

Local media reports indicated that a significant internal review was conducted in the region's police force. The investigation, initiated by a team from Astana, led to the removal of several key leaders within the Atyrau Regional Police Department.

Ministry Confirms Dismissals

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has confirmed the dismissals. Officials stated that planned service inspections are conducted on a regular basis to maintain high standards. The ministry's statement detailed the reasons for the dismissals, citing gross violations of service and military discipline, as well as a lack of proper control in work organization.

Key Officials Removed

As a result of these findings, the head of the Atyrau Police Directorate, along with the heads of the Department of Personal Security and the Counter-Narcotics Department of the Atyrau Regional Police Department, were dismissed by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs. This action underscores the ministry's commitment to enforcing strict adherence to regulations and operational procedures.

Previously, the Minister of Internal Affairs had emphasized that the ministry was undertaking a principled effort to ensure legality and service discipline, including within its own ranks.
