A successful interim deal might also pave the way for the easing of certain sanctions.

Addressing the Strait of Hormuz

According to a high-ranking Iranian official, progress is being made in reducing disagreements concerning the regulation of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran, significantly impacted by U.S. sanctions, is keen on securing a memorandum that would allow for the release of its frozen funds in exchange for permitting a specific number of vessels to transit the crucial waterway.
