In the East Kazakhstan region, 450 people have lost Kazakh citizenship since the start of the year, with most acquiring the nationality of a neighboring country, reports infohub.kz.

Of those, 24 failed to notify authorities within the required timeframe about obtaining foreign citizenship, and seven continued using Kazakh documents after losing citizenship. A court ordered the deportation of six foreigners.

The East Kazakhstan Police Department reminded: "Citizens who obtain citizenship of another country must notify the internal affairs authorities within 30 days and surrender documents proving Kazakh citizenship. Violations carry administrative liability."

A previously deported foreigner was again detained in Kazakhstan.
