An inspection by the prosecutor's office in the Turkestan region revealed 89 citizens who continued to drive despite medical contraindications. All were registered with psychiatrists and narcologists, which legally bars them from driving, according to the website infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office, these drivers held valid licenses, although under the law they were not entitled to drive due to mental and behavioral disorders, as well as disorders related to the use of psychoactive substances.
"According to the law, individuals with mental and behavioral disorders, as well as disorders related to the use of psychoactive substances, with medical contraindications are not entitled to drive," the supervisory authority clarified.
After the prosecutor's intervention, courts revoked the driving rights of all 89 individuals. Additionally, the investigation resulted in punishment for the responsible officials.
Earlier, it was reported about a woman in the Pavlodar region who pretended to be pregnant in exchange for a bribe to avoid arrest for drunk driving.
