In the Makanchy district of the Abai Region, prosecutors have stopped an illegal intervention by the district akimat in the activities of entrepreneurs: market owners were being forced to provide land plots for retail facilities free of charge, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the supervisory authority, the akimat's resolution "On Determining and Approving Locations for Non-Stationary Retail Facilities in the Territory of Makanchy District" unjustifiably imposed on market owners the obligation to provide land free of charge for the placement of retail facilities.

"These requirements violated the rights and legitimate interests of entrepreneurs, creating additional unjustified obligations in the conduct of entrepreneurial activity," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.

Acting on a prosecutor's supervisory order, the illegal akimat resolution has been overturned and the rights of entrepreneurs protected.

In addition, for illegal interference in the activities of business entities, the head of the entrepreneurship department, who was the developer of the regulatory legal act, has been held administratively liable. He was punished under Part 1 of Article 173 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses.
