Since early August, Chinese airline Air China has increased the frequency of flights on the Astana-Beijing route to six times a week, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of Astana International Airport, three flights are now operated non-stop, and three more with a stopover in Xi'an.
Direct flights from Kazakhstan's capital to Beijing are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On the Astana-Xi'an-Beijing route, passengers can fly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
This gives travelers more options for planning business and tourist trips to China. The airport emphasized that the increased frequency of flights contributes to the further development of air traffic between Kazakhstan and China, as well as strengthening tourism, economic, and business ties between the countries.
Air China is China's national carrier, based in Beijing. The company is a member of the Star Alliance, and its route network covers cities in China, Asia, Europe, and other regions. In 2025, the Air China group carried about 160 million passengers.
Earlier, negotiations were held in Beijing between the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on expanding cooperation in air transportation.
