Unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Aktobe and Kostanay on July 25, and at night in Atyrau, according to Kazhydromet, as reported by infohub.kz.
Unfavorable meteorological conditions (NMU) occur when there is a combination of calm winds, light breeze, fog, and temperature inversion. Under these conditions, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, worsening air quality.
Meteorologists warn that during NMU periods, the risk of negative health impacts from polluted air increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.
The level of air pollution is also influenced by wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and temperature.
Residents of cities where NMU are expected are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near busy roads and other pollution sources. Children, the elderly, and pregnant women are recommended to avoid long walks.
People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are advised to keep necessary medications on hand. Outdoor physical activity should be limited or moved indoors.
Earlier, Kazhydromet reported that a storm warning had been issued for July 25 in 17 regions of Kazakhstan due to extreme and anomalous heat up to 43 degrees Celsius, thunderstorms, hail, squally winds, dust storms, and extreme fire danger.
