Kazakhstan's national messenger Aitu aims to free citizens from the hassle of transferring files, searching for residential information, and endlessly entering passwords. At the AI & Digital Bridge 2026 forum, BTS Digital presented a major update that turns the messenger into a "Swiss Army knife" for life in Kazakhstan, according to infohub.kz.

It is worth noting that WhatsApp remains a giant with coverage of over 80% of the country's population — more than 13 million Kazakhstanis use it. The domestic Aitu is still building its permanent audience, having surpassed 1 million monthly active users. However, the developers are betting not on mass messaging but on quality and niche usefulness.

The highlight of the presentation was the built-in artificial intelligence AI to You. Now, to get information or learn something, you simply need to write a message to the AI assistant — the system will find the service, pull everything together, and process it. Thus, chatting with artificial intelligence replaces a visit to the TsON.

In addition, Aitu allows users to form family or work communities, automatically translate messages between Kazakh and Russian, transfer money directly in the chat, and receive secure notifications only from verified government agencies and businesses.

Earlier, during a government meeting, Maksat Nuridenuly, head of BTS Digital, reported that 6.8 million users have registered in the national messenger Aitu. The platform's monthly active audience is 1 million users, and 100,000 people log into the messenger daily.
