American singer Akon fell onto the audience during a concert in Bishkek when he tried to reach the crowd inside a large transparent ball. The awkward moment was caught on video and quickly spread across social media, according to infohub.kz.
The show took place on September 18 at Bishkek Arena. American performers Ne-Yo and Busta Rhymes also took the stage with Akon. According to the organizers, about 35,000 people attended the concert.
During his performance, Akon decided to approach the audience in an unusual way: he climbed inside a large transparent ball and rolled along the edge of the stage toward the spectators. Apparently, this stunt was planned as part of the show to have the artist dramatically rolled over the crowd. However, the singer failed to keep his balance and fell right onto the people.
From the video, it's clear that interacting with the crowd has become one of Akon's signature moves. Before the ball stunt, the singer was rolled over the audience on a special platform with LED lighting while he sat on it and sang his songs. But it seems audiences in the CIS are still getting used to such show elements as crowdsurfing (when an artist is carried over the heads of the audience) and crowdjumping (when an artist jumps into the crowd and ends up in the hands of the public). Such things are still rare at our concerts.
