Almaty International Airport continues its large-scale modernization, with reconstruction of the domestic terminal and construction of a new entrance group. Details of the changes awaiting passengers are reported by the website infohub.kz.

The press service of the Almaty city administration reported on its Instagram page that the city's mayor, Darkhan Satybaldy, inspected the progress of the renovation works. During the inspection, he assessed the reconstruction of the departure lounge, the children's play area, and the terrace, where a new food outlet will soon appear. The mayor was also presented with the project for a new bridge between the gates.

The city administration noted that the reconstruction covers almost the entire domestic terminal: flooring and ceilings, ventilation and power supply systems, passenger check-in areas, and baggage handling are being updated. The main works are planned to be completed by the end of September, after which the arrangement of the corridor connecting the domestic and international terminals will continue. These works are expected to be finished in October-November.

In addition, the mayor inspected the construction of the new entrance group of the airport. Darkhan Satybaldy instructed to accelerate the pace of work while maintaining high quality. According to him, the renovated airport should match the status of Almaty's main air gateway and provide passengers with modern and comfortable service.
