In the Medeu district of Almaty, construction work nearly ended in tragedy: a man suffered a serious head injury, reports infohub.kz.
According to the official Instagram page of the Almaty Police Department, the incident occurred at a construction site. A report of the incident was received at the 102 dispatch center.
Preliminary reports indicate that installation work was being carried out at the site. One of the workers was using a construction nail gun to fasten drywall elements. At some point, a fastener went through the material and hit a nearby colleague. The man sustained a head injury, police said.
The victim was hospitalized in one of the city's hospitals, where he is receiving necessary medical care.
All circumstances of the incident are currently being established. The Medeu District Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident. Investigators will determine how the incident occurred, whether safety requirements were observed at the site, and who was responsible for organizing and supervising the work. Based on the investigation results, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of all those involved.
