In Almaty, preparatory work for the construction of the light rail transit (LRT) line continues. This time, the closure of Tole Bi Street will take place at night, reports infohub.kz.
According to the official LRT account in Almaty, traffic will be restricted on the nights of August 20-21 and August 21-22. The work will affect the section from Nauryzbai Batyr Street to Seifullin Avenue. Motorists will not be able to pass through this stretch from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM. During this time, workers will be relaying sewer networks.
The contractor is strengthening or relocating utilities located under the future LRT line. Most often these are water pipes, sewers, high-voltage lines, and gas pipelines. In total, the project plans to rearrange 375 engineering utilities, with the majority (269) concentrated on Tole Bi Street.
Recall that the first stage of the first LRT line will start from the depot in the industrial zone of Alatau district, near Monke Bi and Bauyrzhan Momyshuly streets. Then the route will run along Bauyrzhan Momyshuly Street to Tole Bi, then east along Tole Bi to Abylai Khan Avenue, and then along it to the Almaty-2 railway station.
Earlier, it was reported what the average speed of LRT trains will be when moving around the city.
