The procedure for purchasing land plots for a new park has started in the Turksib district of Almaty. The total area of the future green zone will be about 6.7 hectares, reports infohub.kz.

According to the akimat's resolution, the forced alienation of land will affect three plots in the Kairat microdistrict: 297/14 with an area of 1.525 hectares, 297/25 - 3.614 hectares, and 297/24 - 1.566 hectares. The procedure is planned to be completed by December 31, 2027.

Owners of land plots, houses, and other structures will receive compensation, the amount of which will be determined based on the market value of the property. If they disagree with the proposed amount, owners can go to court.

For questions regarding the seizure, owners can contact the Almaty akimat at: 155 Tole bi Street, 6th floor, office 602.

Earlier in the same microdistrict, a conflict had already arisen over land seizure: about 200 families received notices of demolition of their houses due to the construction of a new road. Residents expressed dissatisfaction with the low valuation of land - they were offered about 6.4 million tenge per sotka, while, in their opinion, the market value is significantly higher.

In addition, for the construction of the first LRT line in Almaty, 270 land plots are being seized in the Zhetysu, Almaly, Auezov, and Alatau districts.
