Almaty police have issued a warning to fans of American rapper Kanye West about potential fraudulent schemes when purchasing tickets for his upcoming concert, reports infohub.kz.
The Almaty Police Department strongly recommends buying tickets exclusively through official sales services. Officers also clarified an important detail: after payment, the buyer receives a voucher that will be automatically converted into an electronic ticket with a unique QR code on August 13. Until that date, ready-made tickets with QR codes do not exist, so any offers to sell such tickets "second-hand" on social media and messengers may be fraudulent.
The police emphasize that ticket resale is also only possible through official channels: in this case, the previous voucher is canceled, and a new one is issued to the new owner. Fans are urged not to transfer money to strangers and to verify information only through official channels of the event organizers.
Recall that on July 17, information about Kanye West's concert in Almaty appeared. Initially, his manager Joseph Carré announced it, and later the Almaty city administration confirmed that the performance will take place on August 14 at 21:00 at the Central Stadium. Earlier, the police had already reported that scammers were selling non-existent tickets for this event online.
