Alatau Zharyk Company (AZhK) has informed Almaty residents about planned power outages from July 21 to 24, citing routine equipment repairs and network defect fixes, according to infohub.kz.

Prior to the scheduled work, a series of emergency outages hit the city. On July 20, two technical failures were recorded: at RES-4 (the area of Bekmakhanov, Suyunbai, and Goethe streets) and at RES-1 (Shapagat and Samgau neighborhoods). "Currently, specialists of Alatau Zharyk Company are examining equipment to determine the cause of the failure and carry out necessary emergency restoration work," the company said. It promised to restore power in these areas within three hours.

Scheduled outages will run from 8:00–9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On July 21, work will affect Aigerim-1, Akzhar, and Tastybulak microdistricts, as well as private homes near Shakarim, Turgut Ozal, Kulymbetov, and Turgebaeva streets. On July 22, outages will hit Shanyrak-1, Aigerim-1, Akzhar, Tastybulak, Ainabulak, and Atameken microdistricts, plus sections of Bokeikhanov, Rozybakiev, and Navoi streets, and Abai and Dostyk avenues. On July 23, residential and commercial facilities in Tomiris, Ainabulak, and Taugul-3 microdistricts, along with about 25 gardening cooperatives (Kazakhfilm, Michurinets, Pensioner, etc.), will lose power. On July 24, repair crews will work in Aksay-4, Kalkaman-2, Akzhar, Tastybulak, and Tausamaly microdistricts, and areas near Ryskulov and Dostyk avenues and Zhandosov Street.

Earlier, on July 18, residents near Zharokov and Zhandosov streets and Bukhar Zhyrau Avenue also reported a prolonged outage, resolved only by night.
