A limited liability company in the Almaty Region has been fined 119.8 million tenge after transferring 1.1 million euros to a foreign company, infohub.kz reports.
According to the official Telegram channel of the Almaty Region courts, a judicial panel heard an administrative offense case against the company under Part 2 of Article 251 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Case materials established that the company and a foreign company had signed a contract for the manufacture and supply of equipment worth a total of 1,870,580 euros. To fulfill its contractual obligations, the company transferred 1,100,000 euros to the foreign company in three tranches.
However, the equipment was not delivered on time, and the deadline for repatriating the funds expired on July 30, 2026.
A documentary audit found that the requirement to repatriate national and (or) foreign currency within the established deadline had not been met.
By a ruling of the Talgar District Court, the company was held administratively liable under Part 2 of Article 251 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan and fined 20% of the amount subject to repatriation, which amounted to 119,829,600 tenge.
Disagreeing with the first-instance court's ruling, the company, through its representative, filed an appeal.
After reviewing the case materials and the arguments in the appeal, the judicial panel concluded that there were no grounds to overturn or modify the first-instance court's ruling.
The ruling was left unchanged, and the appeal was dismissed.
