Drivers in Almaty have been warned about dangerous potholes on Saina Street left behind after new asphalt was laid, the website infohub.kz reports.

An Instagram user under the handle Boris.drive posted a warning video on the social network. "On Saina Street, below Ryskulov, heading toward the city, new asphalt was laid — and these are the potholes they left. Five potholes, no barriers, nothing at all," the author of the video says.

In the video he showed a car with a wheel bent out of shape. The damage is believed to have occurred when the car hit a pothole. According to the author of the video, the potholes are located near the Sofia residential complex.

"You could fall right in. And this is what happened here. The wheel is wrecked, the suspension is wrecked. Be careful," the man said.

Users reacted to the post in the comments: "They should at least put up signs," "And at night you can't see anything at all. What is going on? Thank you so much for the warning," "Traps for drivers."

An NUR.KZ correspondent requested comment from the press service of the city akimat, but none had been received by the time of publication.
