Almaty residents have raised concerns about construction debris left on newly planted shrubs along Timiryazev Street, and the district akimat has responded to the situation, reports infohub.kz.

Footage published on the social network Threads shows broken wooden structures piled on young green plants. The author of the post, @lora1323lora, specified that the area is above Gagarin Street and complained that the same scene continues further down the street.

“This is on Timiryazev, on the upper side, a small street after Gagarin... But it's like that further on too. Maybe something can be done? Otherwise we won't make it to spring,” she wrote.

The post sparked discussion among Almaty residents. Some suggested that during building renovations, not only new plants but also recently laid tiles could be damaged. Other users called for oversight of construction crews to prevent damage to public spaces.

The Bostandyk district akimat responded to the complaint. “Facade renovation work is underway on Timiryazev Street. Measures have been taken regarding the noted issues, and the identified deficiencies have been rectified. Those responsible for the violations will be subject to disciplinary action. Additionally, explanatory work has been conducted with management and workers on the need to strictly comply with requirements during construction work and to maintain cleanliness and order in the adjacent area,” the statement said.
