Traffic will be restricted on Tsentralnaya Street in Almaty's Bostandyk district for a week due to damage to a cable section, infohub.kz reports.
According to Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy JSC, the road will be closed from October 8 to 15 on the section from K. Salykov Street to Zhangir Khan Street. Emergency repair work will be carried out under the roadway near house No. 36.
"The work is necessitated by damage to a cable section of the 220 kV power line No. 2363. To restore a reliable power supply scheme, specialists need to open the road surface and gain access to the cable to locate the damage, carry out repairs and conduct subsequent tests," Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy explained.
The company noted that work will be conducted around the clock in compliance with all safety requirements. After the repairs are completed, the road surface will be fully restored.
"We ask residents and guests of Almaty to take the temporary traffic restriction into account when planning routes and to show understanding for the forced measures necessary to restore the reliability of power supply to the city and the Almaty agglomeration," the company concluded.
