In Almaty, watermelon sellers may be held administratively liable for trading in unauthorized locations, reports infohub.kz.
Timur Nogaibayev, head of the Public Security Department of the Almaty Police Department, explained at a briefing at the Regional Communications Service that the maslikhat has approved a list of places where the sale of goods and services is permitted. The city has designated points for trade, including for watermelons. However, in the Nauryzbai district, cases of sales in places without permission have been identified.
According to the speaker, such actions violate landscaping rules, as they involve the storage of goods and waste. Additionally, trading outside designated areas is also considered a violation. Offenders face a warning or a fine.
Efforts to identify spontaneous trade are carried out not only in one district but throughout the city. The police conduct daily raids aimed at suppressing unauthorized trade.
Timur Nogaibayev noted that there is a list of places where watermelon trade is allowed, including markets and shopping centers.
