Apple will hold a product presentation on September 9. The company is expected to unveil the next iPhone series and possibly its first foldable smartphone, according to infohub.kz.
The event will mark Apple's first major presentation under new CEO John Ternus, who takes office on September 1. Tim Cook will transition to the role of executive chairman of the board.
Ternus has led Apple's hardware engineering for years. Analysts view his appointment as a signal that the company intends to focus on its core strength: creating devices.
According to analysts, the first foldable iPhone Ultra could feature a display comparable in size to the iPad mini. Most experts expect the foldable iPhone to start at $2,000–2,500 (approximately 917,000 – 1.15 million tenge).
The release of such a device would be a significant step for Apple. The company hopes that premium gadgets will help increase the average selling price and profitability.
Samsung Electronics remains the leader in the foldable smartphone market. In July, the South Korean company introduced a new foldable phone the size of a passport, aiming to maintain its position ahead of Apple's entry into the segment.
Research firm IDC forecasts that Apple could ship more than 17 million foldable iPhones by 2027.
In addition to the foldable smartphone, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The new models may feature a more powerful processor, upgraded cameras, and improved battery life.
According to The Verge, the presentation may focus on premium smartphones. The base iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and the second-generation iPhone Air are reportedly slated for 2027.
Pricing remains a key question. Due to rising component costs, including memory, Apple may significantly increase prices.
iPhone 18 Pro: from $1,199 (approximately 550,000 tenge); iPhone 18 Pro Max: from $1,299 (approximately 596,000 tenge). These are estimated prices for base 256GB models in the US, excluding tax. In Kazakhstan, they could cost around 650,000–750,000 tenge and 700,000–800,000 tenge, respectively, at launch.

Electronics manufacturers continue to face a shortage of memory chips and storage. The deficit is driving up production costs and dampening consumer demand.
