In the capital of Kazakhstan, traffic will be restricted on a section of Almaty Street until the end of 2026 due to the construction of a transport tunnel, reports infohub.kz.

As the city administration reminded, construction of the transport tunnel along Almaty Street, on the stretch from Mangilik El Avenue to Sauran Street, continues in Astana. In this regard, from August 15 until the end of the current year, traffic will be completely closed on the section of Almaty Street from Turkestan Street to Mangilik El Avenue. At the same time, the intersections of Almaty/Turkestan and Almaty/Mangilik El will remain open.

The city administration has asked drivers and pedestrians to plan their routes in advance. Temporary road signs and indicators will be installed to ensure safety and minimize inconvenience. The authorities ask for understanding regarding these changes and to take them into account when planning movement around the city.

Earlier it was reported that construction of an 800-meter transport tunnel along Almaty Street has begun in the Yesil district of Astana. It will become part of a new interchange near the under-construction Presidential Library.
