Starting September 19, agricultural fairs will kick off in Kazakhstan's capital, where farmers from various regions will sell their products directly to Astana residents. The first fair, featuring producers from Kyzylorda and Atyrau regions, will take place this weekend — September 19 and 20, according to infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the capital's akimat, the fairs will be held on weekends until November 1.
"This weekend, on September 19 and 20, the first agricultural fair with producers from Kyzylorda and Atyrau regions will be held in the capital," the akimat said.
More than 600 tonnes of products will be brought to the capital. Among them:
260 tonnes of melons and gourds;
220 tonnes of rice;
65 tonnes of fish;
40 tonnes of meat and meat products;
more than 20 tonnes of other products.
At the fair, visitors can buy meat, fish, dairy and grocery products. Goods will be sold directly by producers.
"The fair will be held in the parking area of the Kazanat hippodrome, at Karkaraly Highway 1. Also, for the convenience and comfortable access of residents and guests of the capital during the fairs, bus routes No. 18, 37 and 303 will run to the venue," the statement said.
The fair will operate from 9:00 to 18:00.
Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that on Saturday, September 19, a cozy farmers' market will be held at Villa Boutiques & Restaurants in Almaty. Visitors are promised local products, coffee, ice cream, open-fire meat and family activities.
