A minor riding a scooter ignored a police order to stop and tried to flee, prompting a pursuit in the Kazakh capital, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the Astana Police Department, the young man violated traffic rules in a square on Kenesary Street, near the entrance to the Philharmonic building. Officers who arrived at the scene confirmed the violation.
It emerged that the scooter was being ridden without state registration plates and that its driver was a minor. He failed to comply with the order to stop and attempted to evade pursuit.
"Continuing along Kenesary Street, he turned onto Saryarka Avenue. At the intersection of Saryarka Avenue and Abai Street, the driver was forcibly stopped and detained by police officers," the Police Department said.
Following the investigation, an administrative protocol was drawn up against the minor's legal guardian under Part 5 of Article 612 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan — for allowing a person without the right to drive to operate a vehicle.
The minor offender himself was given a preventive talk. The scooter was placed on a municipal specialized impound lot.
