A fence collapsed onto parked cars in Astana following a hurricane and heavy rain that hit the capital the previous day. Police have commented on the incident, according to NUR.KZ.

Footage from the scene was posted by Threads user blessedkaz. "After today's hurricane, a fence collapsed onto parked cars at Silkway City," he wrote. The video shows a metal fence lying on several cars.

Police confirmed that the vehicles sustained damage. An investigation is currently underway. "Police officers responded to the scene. It was established that due to strong winds, the fence fell onto parked cars, causing mechanical damage to the vehicles. An investigation is ongoing to determine all circumstances. Based on the results, a decision will be made in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan," said the Almaty District Police Department of Astana.

Earlier, it was reported that heavy rain flooded the capital's roads, with cars moving almost as if swimming. Residents actively shared videos of the weather consequences on social media. Later it emerged that 70% of the monthly rainfall norm fell in the city in a single day.
