A driver whose car was covered in offensive slogans, including obscene language, has been placed under a 10-day administrative arrest in the Kazakh capital, the website infohub.kz reports.
Astana's Police Department said the case was opened after a social media post was flagged during monitoring. The footage showed a Toyota Camry completely covered in offensive inscriptions containing obscene language and expressions degrading human dignity.
"It was established that the driver was travelling in the said vehicle along the capital's streets, displaying such inscriptions, which expressed clear disrespect for others and disrupted public order," the Police Department said.
Police did not disclose who had applied the inscriptions, such as "Cheater" or "Bye, bye," but said the owner of the vehicle bore responsibility. He was soon identified and detained — a 21-year-old local resident, I. I.
The young man was held administratively liable for petty hooliganism. A court ruling sentenced him to 10 days' arrest.
