In the capital of Kazakhstan, a 59-year-old woman driving a Lixiang car grossly violated traffic rules by crossing a double solid line and continuing to drive in the oncoming lane. The incident occurred on Kabanbay Batyr Avenue, where the violation was recorded by cameras of the Central Operations Center, reports infohub.kz.

According to the Astana Police Department, the materials on this case have been sent to court for a decision. The police reminded that such a violation entails deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of six months.

The violation was detected during the operational-preventive operation "Safe Road". The capital's police actively use CCTV cameras, license plate recognition systems, and drones to monitor the traffic situation.

As part of the "Safe Road" operation, violations such as improper transportation of passengers and cargo, using a phone while driving, operating technically faulty vehicles, driving without license plates or with mismatched plates, as well as instances of intrusive soliciting of taxi services are also being identified, the police department added.

The police urge drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and not pose a threat to other road users.
