In 2025, Atyrau International Airport recorded a loss of 315.7 million tenge, after posting a net profit of 616.5 million tenge the previous year. The financial result worsened by 932.2 million tenge, reports infohub.kz.
The company's gross profit, calculated as revenue from services minus cost of sales, reached 783.9 million tenge, down 16.1% from 933.9 million tenge in 2024.
Both administrative and other operating expenses rose significantly. Administrative expenses increased by 34% to 817.8 million tenge, while other operating expenses climbed 52.1% to 188.1 million tenge.
Financial expenses of 351.2 million tenge, which were absent in 2024, played a key role in the loss. These were partly offset by financial income of 226.3 million tenge, which grew more than six-fold year-on-year.
The airport's assets at the end of 2025 totaled 15.8 billion tenge, up 4.7 billion tenge from the previous year. Liabilities rose by 5.1 billion tenge to 8.2 billion tenge.
The airport is managed by Turkish holding YDA Holding. The same company has managed Aktau Airport under a trust agreement since 2008 and participated in the construction of Turkistan Airport. During YDA's management, passenger traffic at Aktau Airport grew from 360,000 to 1.2 million passengers per year.
Earlier, it was reported that YDA Holding plans to increase cargo throughput at Aktau Airport to 100,000 tons by 2030, compared to 3,000 tons in 2025.
