Kazakh company Shin-Line has agreed to launch ice cream production using Korean technologies in the country and to create a food cluster modeled after South Korea's Jeollabuk-do province, reports infohub.kz.
Shin-Line announced the agreements concluded during the state visit of Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev to South Korea. In particular, a trilateral memorandum was signed with the Ministry of Agriculture and Sungwon Machinery Co., a manufacturer of equipment for ice cream and dairy products.
Shin-Line and Sungwon Machinery Co. intend to launch a joint project to produce Korean-style ice cream based on advanced Asian technologies. A company called Shin-Line Engineering will be established to implement and adapt these technologies, including Dry Coater technology, high-precision pumping stations, and Summer Crunch production lines.
The Korean side will provide engineering solutions to modernize production and create new high-value-added products.
"Our task is to bring Korean expertise to Kazakhstan, build our own engineering competence, and create new products that meet high international standards. We have chosen a strong technology partner and expect this cooperation to yield long-term results," said Andrey Shin, president of Shin-Line.
The agreement is for three years. The Ministry of Agriculture will provide support for the project from government agencies.
In addition, Shin-Line Group has agreed with the Korea Institute for Advancement of Food Industry Cluster to create a modern food cluster in Kazakhstan based on the experience of South Korea's Jeollabuk-do province, the country's main agricultural center, home to the state-run Foodpolis cluster.
The Korean institute will share its experience and provide expert support to shape a model for Kazakhstan's future food cluster, which should bring together production facilities, research laboratories, and innovation centers on a single site.
The company noted that the agreement is purely strategic and advisory, without direct financial investments or property obligations. It is expected to help adopt best Asian practices for developing the food industry.
Shin-Line was founded in 1995. Its brands include Mishka na Polyuse ice cream, Snegovik and Belochka popsicles, Bomba ice cream, Dzhushiki fruit ice, and others. The founders of Shin-Line are Andrey and Natalya Shin.
Earlier, it was reported that Shin-Line signed an agreement with Japanese corporation Shigemitsu Industry. The company will develop a franchise of the Japanese ramen chain Ajisen Ramen in Kazakhstan.
