Kazakhstan is preparing to produce another BAIC (Beijing) crossover. The publication Kursiv Avto has discovered a certificate for the X75 model in the vehicle type approval registry, issued to the SaryarkaAvtoProm plant, reports infohub.kz.
Assembly of the Chinese crossover is planned at the Kostanay enterprise. The document will be valid until July 2029 and is intended for serial production. It lists three commercial names: X75, X7, and X7 Plus. This typically indicates that the same model is sold under different names in different markets or with different trim levels.
The Kazakh version will feature front-wheel drive and a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 177 horsepower (300 Nm of torque). The dimensions are 4,745 x 1,892 x 1,715 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
The equipment list is close to flagship: panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, dual-zone climate control, Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, surround-view cameras, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. A digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and an eight-speaker audio system are also included.
The issuance of the type approval does not guarantee an imminent sales launch, but such documents are usually obtained shortly before a model goes on sale or local production starts.
Earlier, Kursiv Avto reported that BAIC was preparing to produce at least five models in Kazakhstan. In July, the BJ30, BJ40, BJ60, X35, and X55 received similar certifications. Now the X75 may join them.
