In the city of Ridder, East Kazakhstan Region, residents are increasingly noticing bear tracks. City authorities say a response team has been dispatched to search for the predators, reports infohub.kz.

Photos of bear tracks found by Ridder residents were published by the Instagram account noks_oskemen. "Fresh bear tracks were found on a dirt road near the dacha area beyond the hydroelectric station," the post reads.

According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of East Kazakhstan Region, following citizen complaints, since August 25 two crews of the rapid response team of the forestry and hunting economy have been working in Ridder. "Raid activities are being carried out against bears approaching populated areas. Special means are used in this direction: drones, thermal imagers, special vehicles. Work is carried out around the clock. This work will continue until late autumn. We talk with residents, gather information about bears, and based on this information we work on that area," the department stated.

Recall that on August 24, it became known that a bear attacked a person in East Kazakhstan Region. Eyewitnesses say that a 58-year-old man working at an apiary was injured. Later, the victim himself told the details of the incident.
