In the mountains of the Talgar district of the Almaty region, the body of an unknown person was discovered. The find was made by tourists in the area of the Severtsev glacier, after which they reported it to rescuers. Emergency workers evacuated the deceased from an altitude of about 3,400 meters, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescuers arrived at the site and evacuated the body from a hard-to-reach mountain area. A helicopter of Kazaviaspas JSC was used to transport it.
After the operation, the deceased was handed over to the investigative team of the Almaty region. Specialists will work to identify the person and determine the circumstances of the incident.
The ministry also reminded about safety measures when hiking in the mountains: study the route in advance, consider weather conditions, and objectively assess your physical fitness and skill level. It is recommended to inform relatives of your planned route and expected return time, and to carry a charged phone, communication devices, and necessary gear.
