A resident of one of Astana's new residential complexes has complained about brown water coming from the tap. The family purchased an apartment just a few months ago, but the water quality has fallen short of expectations, according to infohub.kz.
On social media, the woman shared the issue with water supply. According to her, it is impossible to shower in such water. "It's just awful. We bought the house a couple of months ago, and no one wants to take responsibility. Replacing the pipes is a huge deal. I regret how things turned out; it will be a lesson for us. We trusted and bought, and this is what we got. It's just upsetting. You can't even wash," she wrote. She also noted that the residential complex is classified as comfort class.
The city administration (akimat) reported that complaints about water quality at this address have already been received and the situation is under control. Specialists from an accredited laboratory have repeatedly taken water samples both from the main water supply networks and at the building's inlet (in the basement). According to laboratory analyses, the water quality fully complies with established sanitary and epidemiological standards and GOST requirements.
According to the state enterprise "Astana Su Arnasy," the city networks supply water of proper quality. The discoloration occurs within the building's internal communications. "The facility is large and not fully occupied at the moment, causing water stagnation in some risers and internal pipelines, which leads to sediment being washed out when water is used infrequently," the statement notes.
No violations in the operation of the city water supply networks have been recorded, and water supply is operating normally. To resolve the issue, the maintenance organization, OSI (association of property owners), or management company has been recommended to flush and adjust the internal water supply systems of the residential complex.
