A California family was shocked to discover that a stranger had been secretly living beneath their home for months, using their electricity and causing their utility bills to soar, according to infohub.kz.
The homeowners had long been puzzled by strange noises at night and a sudden spike in their electricity bills. After a thorough inspection of the property, they found that an unknown man had set up a makeshift living space in the narrow crawlspace under their house.
The homeowner discovered a hidden entrance beneath the structure and immediately called the police. When officers arrived, they found the man inside the crawlspace, where he had arranged a sleeping area, brought personal belongings, and illegally tapped into the home's electrical system to power his devices and appliances.
