Four copies of Charles Spencer's highly anticipated book about his sister, Princess Diana, were stolen from a truck in the Netherlands just days before its official release, according to infohub.kz.
Dutch police have launched an investigation into the incident. Four copies of the memoir titled "Swan Song: Diana, My Sister" disappeared from a truck transporting the print run to a warehouse. The driver discovered the break-in after an overnight stop. The theft occurred on the eve of the book's scheduled release on September 22.
Spencer, 62, called the work the most personal of the ten books he has written over the past thirty years. According to him, the memoir's main goal is to tell the truth about Diana from a brother's perspective and to protect her memory from distortions and inaccurate rumors that have accumulated over the years.
The publication covers both childhood memories of life together in the family and the tragic days following the death of the Princess of Wales in Paris in 1997. In addition to the print and electronic versions, the book will be released as an audiobook, narrated by Spencer himself.
