A girl in Shymkent suffered a broken arm after falling from a jumping attraction in Zhailaukol Park. The incident occurred on the evening of August 8. The mother of the injured child said that around 7 p.m. she came with her family to the park on Baidibek bi Avenue, and at about 9 p.m. her daughter went on the jumping ride, where the cable snapped during a jump, causing a fall and injury, reports infohub.kz.
The woman said on social media that the park administration allegedly did not apologize after the incident. She appealed to the Shymkent akimat asking to check the park's management and the technical condition of the rides. According to her, similar incidents have occurred at Zhailaukol before, but she did not provide details. "Many children go there to relax. The health and lives of children are important," the mother stressed.
The administration of Zhailaukol Park responded to the publication and confirmed the fact of the girl's injury. However, they disagreed with the claim that the family was left without attention. According to the park, staff immediately called an ambulance, helped take the girl to the hospital, and contacted her relatives. "We contacted her parents and loved ones and already then expressed concern about her condition and offered our apologies," park representatives said.
Zhailaukol also clarified that the jumping attraction does not belong to the park administration: it is owned by a tenant operating on its territory. However, the administration stated that this does not absolve it of responsibility for what happened. "As the administration of the territory where the incident occurred, we also do not shirk responsibility and are interested in a full and objective investigation of all circumstances," the statement said. The park added that it does not intend to shift blame or hide what happened and advocates for establishing all circumstances in accordance with the law.
