City National Bank has filed a lawsuit against Kevin Federline, the former husband of American pop star Britney Spears. The bank is seeking $117,704 from the 48-year-old dancer and DJ, according to infohub.kz.

Court documents show the debt stems from three sources: a credit card, a personal line of credit and an overdraft. According to the plaintiff, the defendant opened the accounts in November 2024, which coincided with the end of financial support from his former wife.

The lender claims the repayment deadlines passed long ago: Federline was due to repay the overdraft and line of credit in spring and summer 2025, with the card balance due in August 2026. In addition to the principal, the bank is charging interest, with the credit card rate reaching 20.5% per year.

Bank of America has also previously pursued the artist, seeking the return of more than $12,000.

His financial troubles intensified after Spears' and Federline's sons reached adulthood. The couple was married from 2004 to 2007 and raised two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James. For a long time the singer paid her ex-husband $40,000 a month; the amount was later reduced to $20,000, and the payments stopped entirely once the younger son finished school.

In his memoir, Federline claimed the money went toward security for his sons in Hawaii and that the expenses exceeded the payments he received.
