Watching a football match without the usual snacks is a dubious pleasure. But how to avoid eating several packs of chips and consuming extra calories? Dietitian Kamila Timoshenko believes that during weight loss, you don't have to give up watching the game with friends. The key is to organize the table properly, reports the website infohub.kz.
"We won't cancel football. We won't take away beer either. But we can make snacks so that you feel full, enjoy yourself, and don't find an hour later that you've mindlessly devoured two packs of chips," she wrote on her Telegram channel.
To prepare chicken strips, grind chicken breast and an egg in a blender, add salt, paprika, garlic, and your favorite spices. Mix well. Squeeze into strips on a baking sheet. Bake at 170°C for about 30 minutes. An air fryer also works. "The main thing is not to overcook the breast, or it will become dry. This is a convenient source of protein that provides satiety and goes perfectly with hummus," the dietitian shares.
Hummus (a Middle Eastern dip in the form of a thick paste. – Ed.) Timoshenko prepares without tahini. Recipe for hummus without tahini: for 250 g of cooked chickpeas, take the juice of half a lemon, 1 garlic clove, salt, cumin, and paprika, and 2 tablespoons of yogurt. Blend everything with a blender to the desired consistency. "Classic hummus has quite a lot of fat from tahini and oil. I don't have tahini, so it turns out much lighter. At the same time, chickpeas provide slow carbohydrates, fiber, and protein," she explains.
The dietitian recommends dipping carrots, cucumber, bell pepper, and the same chicken strips into the hummus, noting that even celery "disappears in no time" during a match. "As a result, the table has protein, slow carbohydrates, and vegetables. Such a snack is much more filling than chips, crackers, and nuts, which are easy to eat automatically throughout the match. Beer doesn't become a healthy drink because of this, and its quantity, of course, matters. But I certainly don't intend to teach people to lose weight in a sterile room without football, meetings with friends, and family evenings," the dietitian explains.
Earlier, the dietitian explained that "diet" alcohol does not exist, and the real danger lies not in the drink itself but in the snacks and loss of self-control.
