On July 31, the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan issued a statement regarding the verification of a possible leak of 4.2 million records from the Daryn.online platform. An unscheduled inspection of Daryn.online LLP was launched after messages about an alleged personal data leak appeared in open sources, reports infohub.kz.
The Information Security Committee conducted the unscheduled inspection and examined compliance with the requirements of the law "On Personal Data and Its Protection."
"As a result of the inspection, the leak of 4.2 million personal data records was not confirmed. The actual amount of personal data contained in the information system of Daryn.online LLP exceeds 90,000 records, which excludes the possibility of compromising data in the volume specified in the publications," the statement said.
At the same time, violations of the Republic of Kazakhstan's legislation on personal data protection were identified, related to improper implementation of mandatory protection measures. Daryn.online LLP was brought to administrative liability under Article 79 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
