Disney has officially announced the release date for Marvel Studios' superhero film 'Ghost Rider,' starring Ryan Gosling in the lead role. The movie is set to premiere on July 28, 2028, according to infohub.kz.
The standalone Marvel Studios project will be the studio's third film scheduled for 2028, alongside 'X-Men' and 'Black Panther 3.' Shawn Levy, known for the blockbuster 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' has been tapped to direct, with Jonathan Tropper writing the script.
Ryan Gosling will portray stuntman Johnny Blaze, who possesses the supernatural abilities of the Spirit of Vengeance. The actor takes over the role from Nicolas Cage, who played the motorcyclist in two films from Sony.
The release date announcement came as part of Disney's updated theatrical schedule following the D23 expo. Gosling had previously pitched the film's concept personally to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, prompting the studio to put the project into development.
Additionally, Disney has set premiere dates for the animated films 'Night Market' from Pixar for March 10, 2028, and 'Coco 2' for November 21, 2029.
